About Us

In the Gospel of Luke, chapter 15 Jesus was asked, “why do you spend time with the lost?”  His reply was 3 stories known as, “the lost sheep”, “the Lost coin” and “the lost sons”.  The Lesson from Jesus was, ‘ 1. the lost are valuable, 2. the lost need to be saved, 3. A plan is needed to save them, & 4. They need an opportunity to respond.  To this end, we at Luke 15, strive.

Our Story

Luke 15 is the organisational name for groups of adults from different communities and backgrounds coming together with the expressed purpose of reaching the lost as Jesus did.

To do this we look to inform, inspire and teach churches from across denominations and states to engage in the Great Co-Mission of Jesus to their neighbors.

In Acts 1:8 Jesus instructs his disciples to be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.  Therefore, at Luke 15 we partner with overseas missionaries and mission organizations to advance His kingdom.

Mark and Lera Hamilton are two of the  founding members of Luke 15 and have had more than 20 years mission experience in a variety of countries, with their main focus in Eastern Europe.  They pioneered Young Life (a ministry reaching unChurched teenagers) in Belarus and Lithuania.

“A mission where loving God and loving your neighbor is at the core of it’s organization culture”.

Luke 15 seeks to carry out its missional purpose through the building of personal relationships between Christ-centred adults and those outside of the church. As we enter their world we share our lives and common experiences.  Through these relationships  Jesus becomes real to them.

Being in touch with real people, in real situations, we look to not only better the person, but also bring justice to unjust situations.  Humanitarian programs, creative ministries and partnerships with like-minded churches and organization  brings tangible aid,  practical support, and the Good News that gives hope and transforms lives.
